Health Transitions Throughout the Lifecourse
Hotel Casa 400, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
23-25 September 2013

Keynote addresses will be given by:
Professor Eco de Geus, Director of the EMGO Institute for Health and Care Research at the Vrije Universiteit Medical Center, Amsterdam
'Age-related changes in the determinants of exercise behaviour'.
Professor Mark Hayward, Director of the Population Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin, USA
'Health connections across the lifecourse'.
Third keynote - tbc
A provisional programme will be available here at the beginning of July.
The conference will take place at the Hotel Casa 400 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Amsterdam, is the Netherland's largest city and its financial, cultural, and creative centre. It is colloquially known as Venice of the North, because of its lovely canals that criss-cross the city, its impressive architecture and more than 1,500 bridges. There is something for every visitor’s taste, culture and history, and the relaxing charm of an old European city.

Pre-Conference Workshop – ‘An introduction to multilevel models’
Led by Professor Harvey Goldstein, University of Bristol, UK - Sunday 22nd September – 13:00 hrs
Multilevel modelling is now a standard technique in use throughout social science research. This half-day workshop will explain how multilevel models can be used in longitudinal research with examples. The workshop will avoid undue technicalities and will demonstrate the use of software. Topics will include ‘growth studies’, ‘school choice research’ and ‘survival/event history models’. Time will be provided to allow participants to raise their own research problems.
